ClassUp Driver Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how ClassUp Driver (the "app") collects, uses, stores, shares, and protects information when an authorised driver uses the app as part of the ClassUp ERP transport service. By using ClassUp Driver, the authorised driver acknowledges the practices described here.

This policy applies to ClassUp Driver users across all schools using ClassUp ERP. It does not apply to any other application or website that may be linked from the app or from the main ClassUp website.

ClassUp Driver may collect the following categories of information:

• Driver user ID and authentication information used to sign in.
• Driver name.
• School and branch assignment.
• Assigned bus and route information.
• Driver session information.
• Trip start and stop information.
• Precise device location during live tracking.
• Background location while an active trip is running.
• Device and push-notification token information.
• Basic technical and security logs needed for operation, reliability, and troubleshooting.

• Precise location is used to show the live location of the assigned school bus to authorised students, parents, and school staff.
• Background location is required so live tracking can continue when the app is in the background or the phone screen is off during an active trip.
• Drivers should start tracking only when the school trip begins and stop tracking when the trip ends.
• Location is shared only through authorised ClassUp transport interfaces.
• Driver location is not publicly available.

Collected information is used to:

• Authenticate authorised drivers.
• Identify the assigned school, branch, bus, and route.
• Start and stop authorised transport trips.
• Send trip-related push notifications.
• Show live bus location to authorised students, parents, and school staff.
• Maintain security and reliability.
• Troubleshoot technical problems.
• Prevent unauthorised access and misuse.

Relevant information may be accessible only to:

• The authorised school administration.
• Students and parents linked to the applicable bus or route.
• Authorised ClassUp support personnel when necessary for support, security, or system operation.
• Necessary technology service providers used to operate hosting, databases, notifications, maps, authentication, and location services.

• Personal information and precise location are not sold to advertisers.
• Driver data is not used for third-party advertising.
• Data may be processed by necessary service providers solely to operate ClassUp services.
• Information may be disclosed when legally required or necessary to protect users and services.

• ClassUp uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organisational security safeguards.
• Access is restricted according to school, branch, bus, route, and authorised-user permissions.
• Location and trip information may be processed through secure cloud infrastructure used by ClassUp ERP.
• No internet or electronic storage system can guarantee absolute security.

• Location information is retained only as reasonably needed for live transport operation, safety, security, troubleshooting, audit, and legal obligations.
• Trip, assignment, and system records may be retained based on school operational, audit, safety, or legal requirements.
• Information no longer required may be deleted or anonymised according to applicable policies.

• Driver accounts are created and managed by authorised school administrators.
• Drivers cannot create their own account inside the ClassUp Driver app.
• Drivers should contact their school administrator when access is no longer required.
• Logging out removes the local app session but may not remove operational, trip, safety, or legally required records.

• Drivers may request access to, correction of, deactivation of, or deletion of eligible personal data.
• Requests may be submitted through the relevant school administrator or ClassUp support.
• Identity, driver user ID, and school association may need to be verified.
• Certain operational, safety, audit, security, or legally required records may need to be retained even after a request.

The app may request the following Android permissions:

• Fine / precise location.
• Background location.
• Notification permission where applicable.
• Foreground service permission / capability for active location tracking.
• Battery-optimisation exemption for reliable trip tracking.

Denying required location permissions may prevent live tracking from functioning.

• ClassUp Driver is intended for authorised adult drivers or authorised transport staff.
• The Driver app is not intended for use by children.
• Students and parents access transport information through their own authorised ClassUp interfaces.

The app may rely on the following categories of third-party services:

• Cloud hosting and database services.
• Push-notification services.
• Map and location services.
• Android and Google Play services.
• Authentication and security services.

Private provider credentials or internal configuration details are not published in this policy.

This policy may be updated when app features, legal requirements, or data practices change. The effective and last-updated dates below reflect the most recent version.
